Top 5 Nigerian Albums Of All Time
LocaaTunes has handpicked what we think is the Top 5 best Classic Albums in the Nigeria music industry, since the year 2000.
5- Talk About It
When people talk about rappers or emcees in Nigeria, the name MI Abaga (Jude Abaga Garba) always pops up. It’s no longer a news that this prominent hiphop mogul/mastermind is truly one of the greatests to ever do it. Looking at his discography, he’s had hit songs like Crowd Mentality, Anoti, Action Film, Fix Up Your Lives, and the song that brought him to limelight ‘SAFE’, etc. He dropped the album ‘Talk About It’ in December 2008, and we think it’s one of the greatest albums any Nigerian artiste has ever put out!
4- Face 2 Face
This 2004 album has been handpicked as our Number 4 on the list. This was 2face Idibia’s first solo effort, because he dropped it at a time he had just left Plantashun Boiz; which included Himself, Face & Black Face.
2face was the first Nigerian artiste to ever get his song played on any Hollywood Movie. We’re talking about a single off his ‘Face 2 Face’ album ‘African Queen’; which was a soundtrack in the movie PHAT GIRLS.
He’s one of the few artistes to be an influencer and a role-model to other upcoming artistes. In 2004, almost every DJs and Radio Stations had this album on repeat; because it was flames!
