Beyonce Releases Most Aniticipated Album “TheLionKing: The Gift”
American singer, Beyonce has released her highly anticipated album titled “The Lion King: The Gift” which features some of Nigeria’s finest singers including Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, Tekno, Burna Boy, and Mr Eazi.
According to the Editors’ note on iTunes, As executive producer, Bey made it a point to solicit contributions from artists spanning a number of the continent’s many culturally rich traditions and regions, including Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, and South Africa. The album, in fact, is a separate project from the film’s official soundtrack, but that doesn’t stop Beyoncé and a cohort of hand-selected talents from telling that timeless story of the Pride Lands through song.
Though a few have registered their displeasure over the non-inclusion of some African artists, the well-curated album has been widely received and is currently trending.
The album referred to by Beyonce as her “Love Letter to Africa” also features an array of A-list American artists and producers including her husband, Jay Z, Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, Pharrell, Tierra Whack, 070 Shake, Major Lazer, among others.
The Lion King will premiere in theaters this weekend and stars Beyoncé, Donald Glover (Childish Gambino), Seth Rogen, Eric André, John Oliver, and others.
