DMX To Be Released From Prison, After Serving A Year For Tax Fraud
Popular rapper – DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, has been behind bars since January last year after he was hit with a one-year sentence in March for federal tax evasion.
The Yonkers native went to jail in January 2018 on a bail violation, after previously pleading guilty to tax evasion in November 2017. In March 2018, he was sentenced to one year in prison for felony tax evasion.
However, a report has emerged that he will be getting out of jail first thing on Friday morning, January 25, 2019.

According to Vulture, which obtained a statement from DMX’s lawyer regarding his imminent freedom, the rapper was said to be very excited about the prospect that he will be leaving jail for home.
His lawyer, Murray Richman said, “He’s coming home tomorrow,” and is poised to leave at 9 a.m.
“I spoke to him; he’s very happy,” Richman said. “He’s looking forward to being home. He’s never been hotter than now — people have been seeking him out all over.
Simmons’s release date is still listed as January 27 – that is on Sunday – but federal prisoners may be allowed to go home several days earlier if their scheduled release falls on a weekend.
