Crystal Asige x Nairobi Horns Project – Straight No Chaser…
Independent Artist Crystal Asige teams up with Nairobi Horns Project in new single – “Straight No Chaser“.
Moving from strength to strength, the afro soul singer and songwriter Crystal Asige (@crystalasige) sneaks in a fierce end of year single with a seasoned horn section, unapologetically titled “Straight No Chaser”.
The single talks about how on the surface a relationship may look beautiful and endless, but underneath that, the ground has grown cold and lifeless, and it becomes clear to girl that boy isn’t who he says he is.
Collaborating with East Africa’s unmatched band Nairobi Horns Project (@nairobihorns), Crystal Asige’s sassy and fiery Swahili lyrics in the single, “I’ve held my tongue for long enough, I’m tired of pushing you to love. If you want to stay play your role, if you want to go you can go”, is a narrative that many women know all too well, Miss Asige says.
Both tragic and liberating, this exquisitely infused chakacha and jazz piece becomes an end of
2020 anthem for audiences to look that somebody right in the eye and give it to them ‘Straight
No Chaser!’
With none other than the versatile Music Video Director Vinstinct (@vinstinct), these trailblazing independent artists in the music industry team up again to raise the bar even higher.
“To be honest, people are yet to truly understand how creative Crystal is. The last two videos we have worked on together have just been the tip of the iceberg”, teases Vinstinct. “It was really important to me that the music video celebrates diversity, her love for theatre and her Wafuasi family too,” he added.
Don’t take our word for it, watch out for the music video this Friday 23rd October for yourself on Crystal‘s YouTube channel, then subscribe to keep up with all the behind the scenes content showing you exactly how they made this happen.
