Tiwa Savage Becomes First Female Artiste to Win ‘Best African Act’

Nigerian singer and Mavin first-lady, Tiwa Savage has won the highly coveted ‘Best African Act’ at the 2018 MTV European Music Awards (MTVEMAs).

The event which was held in Bilbao, Spain on Sunday saw the Nigerian vocal powerhouse edge out her Nigerian counterpart, Davido, Distruction Boyz (South Africa), Fally Ipupa (DRC), Nyashinnski(Kenya) and Shekinah (South Africa).

Tiwa Savage’s recent feat makes her the first female artiste to reach this giant stride.

Excited about the new award, Tiwa Savage dedicated the award to her son, Jam Jam and her teeming fans.

Just recently, Tiwa Savage made headlines after her role as a video vixen in Wizkid’s recently released music video titled ‘Fever’.

Many had criticized the mother of one for playing sensual role in the music video which eventually led to her estranged husband TeeBillz being dragged on social media.

It has however been a great year for the multiple award-winning Nigerian singer who in September enjoyed a sold out concert at her first headline show at the Indigo, O2 arena, UK.

She also has one of the biggest hits in 2018 titled ‘Lova Lova’ featuring Duncan Mighty credited to her.
