Naira Marley’s Management Issues Official Statement About His Arrest
Following the arrest and prolonged detention of Naira Marley in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), his management has decided to give a public statement on the issue at hand.
Last week Friday, Naira Marley was arrested on his birthday with a bunch of friends including fellow colleague Zlatan. Their arrest was in connection with his endorsement of ‘Yahoo Yahoo’ aka internet fraud.
Just two days ago, Zlatan and other suspects were released while Naira Marley was still held in custody.
His management in a press release regretted the incidence while defending the artiste’s connection with cybercrime.
In the press release, the management argued that Naira Marley was only asking a rhetorical question with his newest track ‘Am I A Yahoo Boy?’. He is a well meaning Nigerian who is into legal means of livelihood like his music.
They also expressed that the incriminating items allegedly found on Marley was not his as it was borrowed during his stay in Nigeria. The statement also urged fans to stay positive while securing his release was in the works.
