Nigerians Top CNN’s “Africa’s Biggest Music Stars” List
Nigerian music acts have dominated CNN’s list of “Africa’s biggest music stars”.
The list released on the 22nd of November, 2019, showed Nigerian acts took five (5) out of ten (10) spots.
Burna Boy, Yemi Alade, Tiwa Savage, Wizkid and Mr Eazi all made the list.
Burna was number one on the list with Yemi on number four. Tiwa Savage followed closely on number five with Wizkid on six and Mr Eazi on seven.
Other African acts that made the list include Benin’s, Angelique Kidjo; Tanzanian’s, Diamond Platnumz; South Africa’s, Busiswa Gqulu and Sho Madjozi and also Zambia’s, Mwila Musonda.
It is not surprising that Nigerian musicians have dominated the list. The volume and quality of content churned out from the West African nation is one to die for.
The likes of Burna Boy, Tiwa, Wizkid and co, have continued to break grounds. They have also caught the attention of various international acts.
Recall also that, Burna Boy has been nominated for a Grammy Award.
However, it remains shocking why DMW chief, Davido, did not make the list.
