Instagram Finally Introduce Dark Mode Display

It’s been one of the most highly requested features over the last few months, and now Instagram is finally getting dark mode.

As the name suggests, dark mode changes the background colour of the app window to black, making it much easier on the eyes – particularly when using your phone in the evening.

Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram, announced the update on Twitter.

He wrote: “Starting today, you can use Instagram in dark mode on iOS 13 or Android 10. Turn dark mode on your phone to try it out.”

Annoyingly, there isn’t currently a way to toggle the feature on and off within Instagram’s settings, and instead, users have to opt for a system-wide dark mode to access the feature within Instagram.
