At the tail-end of last week, we counted down the hottest names in Nigerian music at the moment, with special focus on those who scored the biggest hits, tours, mega moves on the local and international scene, the award winners, and in general, the people we’ve listened and danced to for the past 12 months.
It is both a recap and celebratory highlights of the listed artistes and how much they have affected the industry with their music, adventures and how much influence they’ve exerted on the culture as a whole.

10. Teni
Of all the artists on #TheList2018, the one with the most beautiful story has to be Teni. Watching this talented songstress blossom over the past year has been one of my personal highlights. Normally, you’d expect an artist with such a famous sister like Niniola to come out bearing the tag “Niniola’s sister”. But nah… Teni did her own thing. She made a name for herself from scratch and, in a little over a year, is now one of the hottest musicians in the whole of Nigeria.
Today, the singer has shrugged off adversity and debunked the stereotypical “image” of a female pop star by being herself and delivering amazing music in the process. I pray we finally get a project from Teni in 2019!
